World Mental Health Day 2023

💚🌏 Today on #WorldMentalHealthDay, we are exploring the profound benefits of touch and the vital role male MTs play in providing a safe space for men to heal 👨❤️‍🩹

We’re proud to complement the incredible work being done by organisations like @MeNtorsForMen, @bridgingthegapcoffs, and the Men’s Resource Centre for men’s mental health, as together, we bridge the gap between mental health awareness and practical, hands-on support 👐🤝

Here’s why it matters:
1️⃣ Connection: Human touch is a powerful tool for connecting with others, reducing feelings of isolation, and promoting a sense of belonging. A massage from a male MT can create a safe space for men to open up and share their thoughts and feelings.
2️⃣ Stress Reduction: Massage therapy has been proven to reduce stress and anxiety levels, offering clients a mental respite from the pressures of daily life and opportunity to find mental clarity.
3️⃣ Self-care: Men often neglect self-care, but it’s vital for mental health. Male MTs emphasise the importance of self-care beyond the massage session, empowering men to adopt self-compassion and self-care practices that extend into their daily routines.
4️⃣ Emotional Release: Human touch fosters a sense of trust and comfort, encouraging men to open up emotionally. Sometimes, the most significant breakthroughs happen during a massage session.

And to all the men out there, remember that seeking help, talking about your feelings, and embracing human connection is a sign of strength, not weakness. 💆‍♂️💪

Let’s continue to break down the stigma surrounding men’s mental health and encourage open conversations. Call or visit Coffs Coast Sports Physiotherapy to book a session with MT
