It’s Lymphoedema Awareness Week (2–8 March).
This week highlights the importance of lymphoedema care in practice and the highly trained, accredited professionals delivering specialised care across diverse roles, settings and specialties.
Under this year’s theme ‘United in Care. Diverse in Practice.’, the campaign recognises the shared commitment across our profession to improving outcomes for people living with lymphoedema.
Lymphoedema still remains under-recognised, particularly in men following prostate cancer, melanoma, testicular cancer and other treatments involving lymph node removal or radiation. Early identification and management by accredited practitioners are critical to long-term outcomes.
At The Athlete’s Guild, lymphoedema care sits at the intersection of men’s health, oncology rehabilitation and exercise intervention, supporting people recovering from cancer treatment to improve function, comfort and quality of life.
This week is an opportunity to elevate awareness, strengthen referral pathways and reinforce that lymphoedema care is specialised healthcare — not an optional extra.
