🌼 Daffodil Day 🌼
Today, the daffodil represents hope for everyone affected by cancer and for a future shaped by better research, treatment and outcomes.
At The Athlete’s Guild, we see that the effects of cancer can extend well beyond the diagnosis itself. Treatment can leave changes in pain, fatigue, mobility, sensation, scar tissue, lymphatic function and overall physical wellbeing, sometimes continuing long after treatment has finished.
Supporting someone affected by cancer requires more than simply modifying a standard treatment. It requires an understanding of their cancer history, treatment, side effects, precautions and where they are in their recovery.
Our role is not to treat cancer. It is to provide appropriately adapted care that supports comfort, movement, recovery and quality of life alongside the person’s broader healthcare team.
This Daffodil Day, we recognise those living with cancer, those navigating life after treatment, their families and everyone working to improve what comes next. 💛
